Aston Villa Star John Carew Won't Let Double Setback Damage Season
After entering the Christmas period with four consecutive wins, Aston Villa have been somewhat derailed recently after losing two games on the trot.
First was the less than convincing display at the Emirates, where the lacklustre Villans were put to the sword against Arsenal and made to pay thanks to the Cesc Fabregas show. The Spaniard entered the scene for 27 minutes, scored twice, and Villa lost 3-0.
Two days later came the gut-wrenching defeat at Villa Park, where Villa fell victims of the very late Fernando Torres show, whose 90th-minute winner sealed Villa's fate, i.e. a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool .

These results leave Aston Villa in sixth place in the Premier League table, putting a significant dent in their hopes of securing that lucrative fourth UEFA Champions League position.
Villa will also be mindful that an alarming slump at a similar stage of the season last year ultimately put paid to these lofty aspirations of theirs.
Striker John Carew is wary of allowing that situation to repeat itself, but believes the Villans have learnt from past experiences and are better equipped to sustain a top four challenge this time around.
"To lose in injury-time like that against Liverpool was very disappointing," said the Norway striker.
"We deserved at least a draw. The most important thing is not to lose the games.
"We have had two losses in a row but we've still got lots to look forward to...and this little sequence is not going to break us.
"We are going to come back from this. We've had a great season until now, we are also in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup and we have to get back on track."
Carew added: "It's important to stay positive, it's very important, and we're going to do that in the next game.
"We have to learn from last season and I'm sure we have done, so I hope and think that this season's going to be different.
"We're going to get over this disappointment as quick as we can."
