Baron Davis is capable of tearing Portland apart. Last year, in the first meeting between the Blazers and Clippers in Portland, Baron scored 27 points. He tied the game in regulation with a huge three then killed us in overtime. Our guards can't defend him, so it really just depends if he's on or not. I'm thinking he will be, coming off that big win over Boston. Clippers take this match-up.
Brandon Roy is huge in this game. The Blazers are sliding just a bit and Portland needs Brandon to set the tempo. In a game of offense, Brandon may need 30 to get this win. His opponent, Eric Gordon, hasn't shot the ball well lately. But last year against Portland he shot the ball just fine. Our suspect defense allows him to get off his open jumpers. I like Brandon, but I'm scared of Gordon.
Al Thornton is having a bit of a down year for some reason. Last season he scored at will but this year something has changed. His back-up, Rasual Butler, has been solid and a good compliment on this Clippers team. I think Martell is due for a big game, maybe hit a few threes and get really active, but LA has too much upside.
Let me first say that I am not certain if Marcus Camby will play tonight. He didn't play Sunday due to a knee hyper-extension. I feel like he might miss the trip considering the Clippers play back in LA tomorrow. Either way I like the way Aldridge has stepped up lately. He's making an effort to hit the boards and realizes he has to pick up the slack from Oden and Prz. LA wins here.
This could be another game where our size on the interior could be a huge problem. Kaman and Jordan are two very large men who can easily get theirs against our forwards posing as centers. There isn't much else to say here, other than we are in a world of hurt. I just hope Howard can hit the jumper and Pendo can grab a ton of boards.
