Shane Mosley Deserves the Fight with Manny Pacquaio

I have always been a fan of Shane Mosley.  I watched him in the nineties with all his great fights, and today he is just as good.  If anyone saw the fight between Mosley vs. Margarito in 2009, you were treated to one of the best wars in boxing.  It was fast pace, with back and forth action until Shane Mosley TKO Margarito.   Don’t forget,  Margarito was one of the most avoided fighters.  Floyd Mayweather Jr did not want to fight Margarito.    Yet, Shane Mosley showed the heart of a champion and dismantled him in nine rounds.

It is my humble opinion that Shane Mosley should be the one to fight Manny Pacquaio right now.  If it was Mosley negotiating a fight with Pacquaio, it would have been signed by now.   There won’t be this circus show like what is going on between Mayweather an Pacquaio.  It would of been a done deal in less than a week.

Mosley is a true worrier.  He will fight anyone.  Look at his record.  He lost to some of the best.  There is no shame in losing if you fight the best.  The fans appreciate fighters for taking the most difficult fights out there.    On the other hand, you have a guy like Mayweather Jr. who claims he is the best, but avoided fighting the best welter weights out there.  Mayweather is demanding a 50-50 split with Pacquaio, bigger rink, large 10 ounce gloves,  freedom with his weight , and a demanding blood test that has never been done in boxing history.   All these demands when he does not have any welter weight belts to be used for leverage.  

Golden Boy Promotions need to think clearly.   They have a product that is way more valuable than Mayweather will ever be, and that is Shane Mosley.   Forget Mayweather, he will only bring your ship down if you let him demand everything but the moon.   It is time to bring Shane Mosley into the picture.  Make the fight between Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquaio happen in 2010.   That will be the fight that true boxing fans really want to see.   It will be a war between the two best welter weights.   I for one will glad to put out my hard earn money for this fight rather than a Pacquaio vs. Mayweather fight.
