Holmgren / Hasselbeck Reunion ?
There’s tons of speculation on what new Cleveland Browns GM Mike Holmgren is going to do once the off season hit. The main point of conversation is will he be keeping his coach, Eric Mangini, but there is also another big one. Will Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn be his teams quarterback next season, or will he look elsewhere?
Mike Sando of ESPN.com suggests that Holmgren may look to trade for his former Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck.
"The Browns might be a natural fit now that Mike Holmgren has agreed to become their top personnel man. The Seahawks could try to get a high enough draft choice in return to address a key position, possibly running back. Holmgren would be getting the perfect person to help install the only offense he knows.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It was only a matter of time before that suggestion made wasn’t it??? Players are always rumored to be heading to via free agency or trade to a former coaches new team. So yea, it was bound to happen. The Hasselbeck to Cleveland rumors.
Granted its still the 2009 NFL Season so there is no actual rumor, just a suggestion. And you know what it is a good idea but one I don’t really think will take place and for two reasons.
One. It would require the Browns to trade one or both of their two expensive QB’s. While its pretty certain something like that will happen this offseason, will the Browns bring in another named QB if Anderson or Quinn is still on the roster? I’m not so sure.
Two. Why would the Seahawks give up an affordable big named QB. Even with all the injuries over the past few seasons Hasselbeck is still very affordable. His 2010 salary is only $5.8 million So with a retooled offensive line he could once again be a big name QB again (if healthy).
This is a rumor I’m sure that will really take off once the Mangini and Anderson/Quinn situations are solved. But really, its one rumor I don’t think has much chance of happening.
Only certainty is that there will be lots of a changes with the Browns offense next year. Even if Mangini is the head coach they WILL be changing to the West Coast Offense. The players involved WILL be players that suit that style of play.
Now who the coaches and players are only time will tell.
