The Minnesota Vikings: What To Say?
So here we are 11-4. 1-3 in our last four games. This is just where you want to be while trying to hit your stride entering the playoffs right? I just don't know. Sure, it sounds bad, but what can be said?
At 8:45 central time December, 28th, it could be said that the Vikings had tabulated enough consecutive minutes without putting numbers on the scoreboard to equal over a games worth of playing time. Then in the second half, they put up thirty. Unfortunatley their defense gave up twenty, and made the task of covering a simple kick-off look as difficult as keeping John Gruden from sounding like an idiot. Sorry for getting side-tracked.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I cannot decide what to take away from the Vikings away loss to the Bears. What can be said? Well first off I was dumb enough to say that Tarvaris Jackson was more fit to lead the Vikes to the Superbowl than Favre. I never liked him, I had no faith in him. Yet some how a loss to a 5-9 team is what won me over. Favre looked like a leader out there, and was one of the few guys who I had no complaints for.
What else can be said? Jay Cutler is a tool. He puts up stinkers against everyone except for us. But that is niether here nor there. I just hate him, although I have no reason to, sorry Bear fans.
Regardless of what happens we are in the playoffs... Yay! It just so happens that we are entering them with no number one cornerback. Regardless of who we play, this will present itself as a problem. Take your pick; Driver and Jennings, Fitzgerald and Boldin, Witten and Austin, Jackson and Celek, Colston and Shockey and Bush and oh my.... not encouraging. Even better when our safeties don't understand they are the last guys back, and the term safety derives from... well is it not self explanatory?
What else to say? Is Adrian Peterson the best back in the NFL? No, errr I don't know. I guess not, but I was listening to the post-game discussions on KFAN. Someone called and said is AP overrated? They started off saying, "well he is a beast but he drops the ball." Then, for whatever reason they got bitter, saying, "He has really taken a step backwards and is digressing." Finally to, "His yards are just smoke and mirrors." Now I am not exactly sure what that even means, but I believe it means his yards are pretty, but it doesn't matter because he just screwed us. I am mad and I am going to make him the sacrificial lamb.
These guys left me dumb-founded. Yards are yards there are no "smoke and mirrors" about it. Yes AP fumbles, yes Berrian drops 30 yard passes on 3rd down to change momentum, yes Jared Allen disappears from time to time, yes Childress calls runs on third down after losing yards on consecutive first and second down run plays.... on the first drive of the game. Do you see what I am saying? Peterson made a bad play, he probably should have ran out of bounds. However, I have never seemed someone get turned on so quickly.
So once again what can be said? Well truthfully I don't know, and that's the beauty of it. On any given day one guy can show up and another one can be in la-la land, cough cough Winfield. The NFC is shaping out to be up for grabs, with a playoff bracket that has six teams that are very capable of winning it.
My final thoughts, extra points always bight you in the butt. However, I think we got out of a three game slump and now a fire has been lit under our butts. I almost was happy with how this game shaped out. It reminded me of the Giants almost beating the Pats in 07. Then again they lost to the 6-9 Bears, so maybe that is dumb. But AP is a comptetitor and he is going to be burning. We will just have to wait and see. On the bright side everything is going to plan in Minnesota. According to the C-ROP (Childress rule of progression) The Vikings will finish 12-4 and win one playoff game. They were 6-10 his first year, 8-8 his second year, 10-6 his third year losing in the wildcard round of the playoffs, and now.... What a great time to be a Vikings fan.
