It appears as though the inevitable is finally going to happen.

According to sources close to the Rockets and according to breaking stories from ESPN, Tracy McGrady will be given an indefinite leave from the team, as Houston aims to trade the disgruntled guard.

Admit it, we all saw this as a possibility.

But now it’s a reality.

I guess McGrady would rather get playing time with a team like the New Jersey Nets over playing seven to eight minutes with a playoff-bound team like the Rockets.

If that’s the case, he’s made the right decision.

However, if T-Mac has any hopes of winning a title, he should have stayed in Houston.

Of course, he could always pull an Urban Meyer on us and decide to stick with the Rockets after all.

As a fan and writer with such high hopes for McGrady when he first came to Houston, this is a truly sad conclusion to T-Mac’s Lone Star State run.

Will he bounce back with some lowly NBA team?
