Who is Hulk Hogan? For those who don't know, Hulk hogan is one of the biggest legends in pro-werstling history. Sense 1977 Hulk Hogan has entertained millions of people, Weather he's lacing his boots or entertaining some other way like being the host of American Gladiator.
Fans have forgotten just how exciting Hulkamania really is. At the age of 56 Hogan is still turning heads and blowing up the stage with cheers. This article will explain in more detail why Hogan deserves More respect by the fans and some of the Bleacher Report readers.
Lets begin where it all started, the NWA. First debuting as the The Super Destroyer, Hogan started turning heads being the NWA " Southeast and Southwest World heavy weight champion. He beat what was at the time the best in the buisness. After being in NWA for only 2 years, Hogan Was drafted to the WWF.
Vince McMahon, Sr. was impressed with his by his talent. McMahon Immediately hired Hulkster At this time, Hogan wrestled another best in the buisness for his first shot at the WWF world title. Hogan lost but started a fued with another legend Andre the Giant til 1980 when he switched to New Japan Wrestling, where his career boosted.
Japanese wrestling fans were in awe and nicknamed him Ichiban that translates to number one. He fought manJapans finest such as Tatsumi Fujinami and Abdulla the Butcher. While in Japan, Hogan used completely different wrestling moves, relying on more technical and traditional wrestling moves,than relying to the power-based and brawling moves we the fans are used to. Another difference is that Hogan used a running forearm A.K.A TheAxe Bomber as his finisher in Japan instead of the Running leg drop that's his traditional finisher in America. On June 2, 1983, Hogan became the first IWGP tournament winner and a IWGP Heavyweight champion. Again beating The best in the buisness at the time, Antonio Inoki. Hogan and Inoki were also at one point partners in Japan. Hogan and Inoki won the prestigious MSG Tag League tournament two years in a row, first in 1982 and twice in 1983. Hogan's popularity in Japan was so great, he even recorded an album " Rock 'n' Wrestling" in the mid 80's.
After filming a scene in RockyIII, against McMahon's wishes, Hogan made a debut in the AWA. Hogan started as a heel, but audiences loved the muscular and more charismatic Hogan. Soon the AWA's bookers were compelled to change his image and a new theme song, Hogan ended up as the babyface of AWA, and throughout 1983, he engaged in a big feud against AWA World Champion Nick Brockwinkel. The owner booked numerous Screwjobs to keep the championship with Bockwinkel, who was a veteran of AWA and the mantle of the organization's centerpiece. Hogan defeated Bockwinkel to win the title, only the decision was later reversed. Hogan Grew frustrated with AWA owner, eventually Hogan refused the title saying he didn't need the AWA title at that point. Later Hogan was lured back to WWF by Vince McMahon Jr., who had just recently bought the WWF from his father.
After buying the WWF from his father, Vince Jr. expanded The roster and acquired Hulk hogan. and from 1983 to 1993 Hogan was the face of the WWE. Then until 2003 hulk hogan would switch between WWF,WCW, and new Japan. Hogan would eventually before his first retirement Shortly after Hogan left the WWE, TNA Wrestling began making overtures to Hogan Jeff Jarrett, co-founder of TNA was supposed to face Hogan For the NWA World Heavyweight champion, launching an on-air attack on Hogan in Japan in October 2003. The attack was supposed to get Hogan to battle Jarrett for the NWA title at TNA's first three-hour Pay-Per-View. Due to recurring knee and hip problems, Hogan did not appear in TNA. Eventually In 2005, Hulk Hogan re-signed with the WWE, retired and appeared several times throughout time to yet again Entertain and bring the house down.
no one is better than Hulk Hogan and TNA knows it. Hulkamania is so popular that once WWE fans are now TNA fans due to Hogans switch. TNA is so excited that when u go to their website, Hogan is plastered. There isn't a more electrifying superstar in WWE or TNA. Really I dont feel their is a superstar that is as great as The mighty Hulk Hogan
