Urban Meyer Resignation Apparently Just an Elaborate Game of "Psyche"
The sporting world was stunned Saturday evening when Florida Gator head football coach, Urban Meyer, decided to resign. He had cited health reasons for his urgent and unexpected departure.
Fans were in shock, ESPN commentators ignored the game in front of them, and Mark Richt and Lane Kiffin breathed sighs of relief. Alabama fans snickered as they thought of various new t-shirt slogans blaming this resignation on Nick Saban.
Then it all changed.
It was something so simple, something right in front of all of us.
We kept digging and prying, looking for a reason come Sunday morning that Urban Meyer had changed his mind.
Meyer claims that he had a change of heart and called athletic director Jeremy Foley.
Sources close to the two report that as soon as Foley picked up the phone Urban let out a long, "psssssssssssssssssssyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyche".
The two had a chuckle and then moved on.
Unfortunately, the rest of us were not in on the joke and college football is reeling from this latest hoax.
Many close to Meyer weren't surprised by this game, in fact many say he is quick to respond with a "your mom" joke whenever it presents itself.
After all is said and done, all we can do is throw our hands up in the air, tip our cap, and say, "well played Mr. Meyer, well played indeed."
