Rashad Evans, Thiago Silva UFC 108 Picks
After UFC 107, I realized that my knowledge of most of the fighters on the card, was not too good. Like many people before me have said though "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game"
Junior Dos Santos vs Gilbert Yvel
Dos Santos is on a four fight win streak and even thought he beat a washed-up Mirko Cro-Cop, he still beat him. To hold a win over a legend like Cro-Cop is a big accomplishment regardless of how awful Mirko has looked in the octagon lately. He's shown that he has the hunger and will to be a top heavyweight and he's gonna show everyone that again once he defeats Gilbert Yvel by TKO. Dos Santos gets the nod here
Duane Ludwig vs Jim Miller
This is an appealing fight for me because Duane Ludwig has been around the world of MMA for awhile and has some quality wins under his belt, but unfortunately, Jim Miller is no slouch either, with wins over Matt Wiman and Mac Danzig inside the Octagon. Sorry Duane, but your return to the UFC is gonna get spoiled by Jim Miller
Joe Lauzon vs Sam Stout
Joe Lauzon is an impressive fighter. He defeated Jens Pulver in 54 seconds. Sam Stout is in over his head...enough said. Lauzon does whatever he pleases in this fight.
Paul Daley vs Dustin Hazelett
This is the fight I'm most anxious to see. Hazelett has the ability to catch you in any submission from any angle, while Daley can put you flat on the canvas, staring at the ceiling in the blink of an eye. So, I'm interested to see how this one goes. If Daley can keep the fight on the feet, it's his fight to win, "McLovin'" can't bang with "Semetex". If it hits the ground, Daley could be on his way to the hospital to get a limb repaired. As a Team Rough-house fan and a huge fan of Daley's teammate, I've gotta go with the Brit to win this one by KO, I picked all the Brits at UFC 105, besides James Wilkes and we all know how that turned out. UK DOMINANCE!!!
Thiago Silva vs Rashad Evans
This is another intriguing matchup. Both fighters like to bang and both fighters have been KO'D by Lyoto Machida. Rashad has looked better and better in every fight in the UFC (With the exception of the Machida fight). He also has two KO'S that could go down in history as some of the most brutal knockouts, the headkick KO over Sean Salmon and the KO over a UFC legend, Chuck Liddell. Thiago Silva is no joke! Despite his loss to Machida (his only loss in his MMA career) he impressed many people in that fight. he kept the fight on it's feet and he landed some clean, compact shots. I think with all the Rampage talk, Rashad is going to come in highly motivated and KO the brazilian. Evans by KO
