FLINT, Michigan -- The Flint Generals are officially on a win streak... again. Flint beat their nemesis, the Fort Wayne Komets, 4-1 on Sunday evening. The victory is their tenth of the year and easily the most impressive thus far.

Rookie net-minder Rob Nolan had another stellar showing in between the pipes for the G-Men -- stopping 35 of 36 pucks faced.

Nolan pieced together nearly 70 minutes of shutout hockey in his last two starts -- a streak that was ended by Fort Wayne's Sean O'Connor.

"Most of the shots were from the perimeter," Nolan said, "I just had to watch out for the rebounds. My defense played very well."

Nolan and his teammates know that they face an uphill battle when it comes to making the playoffs. The Generals have a talented roster and have played their two best games of the season in their post-Christmas weekend set.

When the Generals play their brand of hockey they are successful. That was evident when they won three games in a row just over a month ago.

Brandon Gentile and Rick Smith both played an extremely physical game on both ends of the ice. Smith and Gentile continue to show that are great two-way players.

Gentile showed his gritty side in the third period when he was hit with a five minute major for fighting.

Pascal Rheaume's goal at 12:54 of the first period put the Generals up 1-0.

Not only was it important for Flint to strike first but the goal came on the power play. Flint's special teams have been almost crippled this year, Rheaume's goal gives the power play unit a boost of confidence.

Nathan Ward netted his fifth goal of the year -- John Mori and John Ronan continued their scoring trends with their 10th and 11th goals respectively. Ronan's goal came by way of an absolute laser of a wrist shot from the blue line.

The Generals look to continue their win streak when the Quad City Mallards come to town on Wednesday, December 30th.
