Count on Floyd Mayweather to Spoil the Day

I am getting to the point that I hope the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather jr will never happen in the ring. Floyd Mayweather is one of the worst things that happened to boxing. He is the root of all of the problems in boxing today. If one ever has pay $50 to watch a Mayweather fight, they will feel very disappointed. It’s almost like going to an expensive restaurant and getting a really bad meal. You will never return to that restaurant again.

I have been watching boxing as a casual fan throughout the years. I loved watching the wars of Sugar Ray Lenard, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and Shane Mosley. They were charismatic fighters that were really entertaining to watch. Fast forward to 2009, and we have Manny Pacquaio. He is probably one of the most entertaining fighters that have come along. He is a delight to watch in the ring, and a great person outside the ring. Then you have a guy like Floyd Mayweather Jr that is one of the worst things that could have happened to boxing. This guy has one of the loudest mouths since Ali without anything to back it up. At least Ali was entertaining to watch in the ring. Watching a Mayweather fight is one of the most frustrating things to watch. This guy found a way to make an actual fight between two men look boring. It is really incredible if you really think about it.

I really hope Manny Pacquaio will walk away from this fight with Floyd Mayweather. Manny does not need Floyd. If these two ever fought, it will end up being a boring fight. You will see one man chase another man for 12 rounds, and you will end up hating boxing. I hope that does not happen because it will turn this great sport back another 5 years.

For the first time in 20 years, people are starting to watch boxing again. All over the world, people are discovering Manny Pacquiao even when they don’t know anything about boxing. My cousin was telling me that she was watching the Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight, and she has never watched boxing before in her life. She tells me that Pacquiao is entertaining to watch. All this tells me is that Pacquaio is great for boxing, HBO, Vegas, and the entire industry.

But all this momentum in boxing can suddenly be spoiled with a guy like Floyd Mayweather Jr. Look at the circus show that is going on right now. He has suddenly turned something that all fans are celebrating for to a negative event. By accusing Manny Pacquaio of using Steroids or PED without any evidence to back it up is just irresponsible. He has suddenly painted a bad image to the sport without any evidence to back it up, just when a time when millions are discovering boxing again.

If I was Manny Pacquaio’s advisor, I would tell Manny to stop all negotiation and walk away. Don’t let Floyd Mayweather make any money from you. Go Punch Mayweather where it really hurts, and that is below the belt and in his wallet by denying him the fight. Meet Mayweather in the court instead of the ring. Manny can potentially win a $200 million lawsuit against the Mayweathers and Golden Boy Promotions.

By walking away from a major fight like this, the executives at HBO will be so angry that they will never let Mayweather ever fight again on their network. And if that ever really happened, the cancer will finally be removed from boxing, and perhaps boxing will gain its popularity again.
