Issues With The WWE and World Heavyweight Titles.
The WWE has some issues with their two top champions. Some seen, and some unforeseen. Lets start first with the WWE Champion Sheamus.
I personally don't think that Sheamus getting the WWE title was a bad idea, but I do believe that it was a rushed move. I think that this rivalry could have festered a little more. We all know the shock that happened at TLC when Sheamus won the title over Cena, but can you imagine how much of a shock it would have been if Sheamus had performed this feat at WrestleMania 26.
Sheamus is proof that if you know that a kid's got the talent to headline, skip the tv development league (ECW) and put them straight on one of the headline shows.
As Scott Manyard stated in his article "How The WWE Title Mess Could Have Been Avoided" (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/314380-how-the-wwe-title-mess-could-have-been-avoided), he presents the idea of Sheamus costing Cena the title at Breaking Point, which would have been unforeseen. No one, including Orton, would have known why Sheamus would have interfered in that match. The rivalry between Cena and Sheamus could have grown to a fever pitch and would have had to been settled in a match when Cena got his title back at Royal Rumble, setting up for the biggest upset in history on the 'Grandest Stage of Them All".
So much for dreams...
Now on to the World Heavyweight Title.
First, let me start off by saying that I am a huge Undertaker fan, and I am glad that he has another title reign under his belt, but I am willing to admit that him being champion will always present a problem. Who's going to reasonably take it away?
A lot of people have been complaining that Batista has been in the title hunt for far too long, and should just handle his situation with Rey.
My response to that is simple. Batista has victories over the Undertaker, and can be seen as someone that could pull off a pinfall victory, and people believe and respect that. Now let's look at the rest of the SmackDown roster. Charlie Haas, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Curt Hawkins, David Hart Smith, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Edge, Eric Escobar, Finlay, Jimmy Wang Yang, John Morrison, JTG, Kane, Kung Fu Naki, Luke Gallows, Matt Hardy, Mike Knox, R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Shad, Slam Master J, The Great Khali, & Tyson Kidd
Now from that list, who could have victories over the Undertaker, and would be able to carry SmackDown. Don't worry...I'll wait...
Some of you are screaming, Jericho and Punk and Rey. Jericho is an amazing talent, but given his character right now, can't beat the Undertaker, especially given that Undertaker squashed him at the last MSG Raw.
CM Punk would be a good opponent for the Undertaker, but we know that his only shot at winning is with Luke Gallows' interference.
Rey is hoping that Batista gets it while still in this rivalry with him because Batista is Rey's ticket to a possible second title run. Rey can beat Batista, but as we saw on the last SmackDown, The Undertaker had things well in hand before Batista interrupted an awesome match between himself and Rey. Btw, the Triple-Threat match will be very entertaining, but I'm sure it will end with Batista still facing off with The Undertaker.
Batista is a powerful force, and can easily be seen as a wrestler that is feared. He was the only man in the past that seemed like a viable threat to the Undertaker's Championship (besides the MITB winner). If Batista gets it, then he is seen as a wrestler that can loose, so the title can be in rotation again.
