Come From Japan, Good Move, Go To Japan Spells Retirement!

jayson HughesDec 25, 2009

Coming from Japan to the United States after several years of honing your skills is a very underrated form of fighters earning there sea legs.

Not only do you learn very valuable fighting skills, you might, or might not have to go throughout that almost unpalatable show The Ultimate Fighter to gain access the Fertittas valuable UFC, "THE WHOLY GRAIL OF MMA".

While the pay scale isn't what the Japanese market is offering fighters, there is something about fighting on American soil via UFC or Strikeforce that solidifies a fighters career.

My theory is train hard, fight the local small circuits in the states and then go to Japan to get some well needed experience, then when you have felt that your hard work has or is paying off, come back, get acclimated to the cage/grappling style heavily used in the octagon.

NOW, if you have fought in the octogon for several of years, burnt yourself out and feel like that the younger fighters are just to much for you, like Tito and Chuck, swallow your PRIDE, fly over the pond and make a little coin for your pocket, you may even invigorate some of those old feelings that once made you a mad man in the sport.

Then there is the final score, go to Japan , beat up , or lose, it is a very different style to adjust to, be prepared to to stay and finish out your career there, because no matter what no one in the USA is going to come knocking on your door offering you a lucrative contract.

Japan ,the Arizona for retired fighters.
