One Last Time: What Do Real Madrid Have to Offer for Cristiano Ronaldo?

Salaar ShamsiJun 21, 2008

Is it me or has this whole Cristiano Ronaldo saga gone just a little too overboard!

Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to grab all headlines saying "The future no one knows." If he gets tired of his trademark line, he says "It's my dream.  It's my decision.  I will make it, you must wait."

Oh Enough! Already! Get over it now! I have absolutely nothing against Cristiano Ronaldo for taking so much time to announce a "life changing decision."

He was a major reason for United doing the double last season, scoring a staggering 43 goals.  Yes! Chances of him repeating half that in the coming season? Don't look too bright.

Agreed! He is major talent.  I'm not going to make any off the wall comment suggesting he's better than Pele or Torres or Drogba because immature comparisons are unnecessary.

He had a great season last time out, but do you think he can repeat it? It's possible or Impossible is Nothing as Adidas would say, who by the way would sponsor Ronaldo if he goes to Real Madrid which is why Nike are persistent on him staying at United.

Anyway, getting back to the discussion.  It's highly unlikely Ronaldo's performance will be half as good in the coming season (If he stays, I hope he proves me wrong).

Having said that should Manchester United cash in on him when the money's there for the taking? If they do this, what kind of message are they giving to the rest of the Manchester United players and to the fans?

It's a tricky decision but one thing is for sure Cristiano Ronaldo can do anything he wants including crying, which he tried after defeat at the hands of Greece in the final of Euro 2004.

The final decision on whether to accept or reject a bid from Madrid lies with Manchester United, sorry kido!

I appreciate Ronaldo's contribution towards my beloved United's performance last season but for the third time in this article, can he repeat it?

He's got all the skills in the book.  He's got pace and venom in his shots and his free kicks dazzle, but how long can Ronaldo be the Ronaldo who Manchester United knew last season?

He wasn't in himself in the Euros apparently.  I'm not suggesting he's underrated or overrated.  I believe his performance last season has given him all that he deserves.

By the way, this is the very last time I'm discussing the Ronaldo situation until he actually comes out with what's going to happen in the so called "future."

That's a wrap, or you thought it was but I thought we could take time to check what Real Madrid actually had to offer since they were so desperate to land him.

The following offers are all possibilities and rumors since no official bid has been made:

1. Cristiano Ronaldo for Robinho and 40 million euros: It's certainly worth considering as far as I'm concerned.  Yes, Ronaldo is the man, but Robinho is extremely talented (Can he fit into the English game)?  United might even go into buying someone like Ricardo Quaresma.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo for Robinho and Sergio Ramos: The second possible option is also worth considering.  The traditional two for one deal would bring Robinho and Sergio Ramos, who is a very capable defender to Old Trafford.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo for Wesley Sneijder and 34 million euros: Another mega deal that is apparently being brought to Manchester United's vision by Ronaldo's agent would see a brilliant Dutch midfielder and a ridiculous amount of cash coming into Manchester United.

All of these offers are ridiculous.  I feel but if he has to be sold.  They are worth considering.  What do you think?
