NFL Draft Links (12/21): CB Donovan Warren declares
Michigan junior DB Donovan Warren has declared for the NFL Draft. After an NFL evaluation, Warren believes he is slated for the first or second round. (USA Today)
"The “decision was based on my readiness and confidence that I’m ready to move forward and take care of my family and move on to the next chapter in my life,” Warren said in an e-mail to the Detroit Free Press.
"
Our good friends at Walter Football has Warren ranked 8th on their corner backs rankings. CFN goes as far as not even ranking Warren in the Franchise Prospects and Likely Starters.
Michigan Blog at MLive defines Warren as a second corner in the NFL, not a premier shut down defensive back. (MLive)
"Warren has the tools to be a very good No. 2 corner in the league for many years to come. He’s not a shutdown corner but he has enough talent to stay in the league for a while. One must remember he had almost no help in the secondary this year. Unless he goes to the Detroit Lions, he will have more help around him at the next level.
"
I will be surprised if Warren breaks the first round. Maybe I am wrong, but I think obviously Joe Haden will be the first corner taken, but I bet Javier Arenas and Patrick Robinson jumps ahead of Warren.
Rutgers junior OT Anthony Davis is expected to enter the NFL Draft. (APP.com) This makes sense for Davis. left Tackles are a premium in the NFL and Davis is a good one and should he enter, he most certainly, barring an Andre Smith type breakdown at the Combine, land in the first round.
