Get 'em or Don't Sweat 'em: Week 15

Ryan LesterDec 21, 2009

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

Chad Henne, QB, Miami Dolphins

Henne threw for 349 yards against Tennessee, and is a decent desperation play next week against Houston. Odds are you have a safer option though.

Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Matt Moore, QB, Carolina Panthers

Moore tossed three TDs and nearly 300 yards against the Vikings. I would consider him in two QB leagues, more because of Steve Smith’s play than Matt’s.

Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Maurice Morris, RB, Detroit Lions

Morris had 161 total yards and a score against Arizona. He has a tough matchup in San Francisco next week, but is worth grabbing and using in a pinch.

Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland Browns

Obviously a guy who rumbled for 286 yards and three TDs is going to command some attention. With Oakland on tap next week, he could be in store for another big game.

Ruling: Get ‘em.

Michael Bush, RB, Oakland Raiders

Bush destroyed the Broncos with 133 yards and a score. He has a juicy matchup next week against the  Browns, but you never know which Raider Back is gonna get the ball. If you are in a pinch, roll with Bush.

Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Brian Hartline, WR, Miami Dolphins

The final numbers looked solid (two catches, 96 yards), but they were aided by a fluke catch.

Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Mark Bradley, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Bradley had 52 yards in a score, but he’s the fourth option at best with Jamaal Charles, Chris Chambers, and Dwayne Bowe ahead of him.

Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Demetrius Williams, WR, Baltimore Ravens

Williams had four catches for 71 yards and a score. He hadn’t done much prior to this game though, so don’t bother with him.

Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Josh Morgan, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Morgan had 61 yards and a score against the Eagles. He’s averaging 5.5 catches in his last four games, and with Detroit up next week, he is worth considering.

Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Mike Wallace, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

Wallace caught a pair of TDs against the Packers, but is a shaky play next week against Baltimore.

Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

David Thomas, TE, New Orleans Saints

Thomas caught eight passes for 77 yards. It was just his second game of the year with over 50 yards and, with just one TD on the year, is not a player I’d gamble on in a fantasy football championship game.

Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

J.P. Foschi, TE, Cincinnati Bengals

Foschi had seven catches for 82 yards, but the Chargers are fantasy friendly to Tight Ends. Don’t waste your time with him.

Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.
