Case For AP NFL MVP: Phillip Rivers(sorry About Photo)

       There are many good teams in this 09-10 NFL season. Also, there are many teams fighting for playoff berths with 7 teams in the AFC being 7-7, but the Chargers don't need to worry about the playoffs since they clinched a berth with a record of 11-3 so far. The chargers are underrated since Phillip Rivers took the quarterbacking duty when Drew Brees went to the saints. The first year he started the chargers started 4-2 to sneak to 14-2 in 06 to lose, because of a fumbled interception in the divisional playoffs against the Patriots. This wasn't his fault and he had a decent game. Also that year he made the pro-bowl with 22 touchdowns, 9 interceptions while completing 62% of his passes for a 92 QB rating and 3388 yards passing

       Next season he led the chargers to a 11-5 record and to the AFC championship game.In the AFC championship game against the perfect Patriots he was injured and he was limping for most of the game. So on, this was the first time he showed courage and this was the beginning of him taking the team from Tomlinson. Despite their unfortunate lose, it was the most guttiest performance by Rivers. During this season Rivers had 21 touchdowns, 15 interceptions on 3152 yards and an average 82 QB rating.

      Last season, the Chargers were destined not to make the playoffs with a 4-8 record and the Broncos having to win one more game to get in the playoffs with a 8-5 record. Phillip Rivers got the offense going despite Tomlinson's decline in rushing yards. They were lucky that the Broncos defense were horrible that year and how they had let downs. The chargers rallied to go to 7-8 while the Broncos were 8-7. Phillip Rivers performance was flawless while the Chargers went to blow them out 51-21 to steal the division and a playoff spot. So on, during the wild card game Phillip Rivers outperformed manning who was the MVP and the quarterback leading the Colts to a 12-4 record. The Chargers defeated them in overtime with the help of Darren Sproles and Rivers performance. So on, they lost to the Steelers in the divisional round, but Rivers non-pro bowl season would be unforgettable. He was the highest rated quarterback with a rating of 105.5. Also he was tied with Drew Brees for most touchdowns with 34 and he completed 65% of his passes. So on, he had 4009 passing yard, but it was Brett Favre and the incumbent Kerry Collins making the pro bowl over him on the AFC roster.

       This season he is leading the Chargers to a 11-3 record despite being near dead last in rushing. Also, he has full control of the team and Tomlinson isn't considered the franchise player anymore for the Chargers. So on, he is still one of the highest rated quarterbacks in the league with a 103 rating. The charger's record may not be good as the saints or colts, but Rivers deserves a lot of consideration. He also has a underachieving defense at times and they can be suspect, and most of the times he wins by himself and Vincent Jackson as his main target. Next, so far he is on pace for a back to back 30 touchdown season with having 25 so far with 9 interceptions to match it. Also, he is on pace for 4000 yards again.Last of all, what separates Rivers from the rest of the quarterbacks is his will to win and how he wins and that is with poise, if he has no consideration for the MVP the NFL needs to call a department of common sense to give him consideration.
