Roethlisberger Joins The 500-Yard Club As They Stun The Packers

The Steelers came into the game riding a five game losing streak. The last time the Steelers were in the win column was in week nine when the defeated the Broncos.

The Steelers were two point underdogs and came in with a chip on their shoulder.

The Steelers lead throughout most of the game. The Packers grabbed their first league with a 24 yard Ryan Grant run that put them up 28-27.

That didn't slow the Steelers offense down. The Steelers O went down the field and put up a field goal to give the Steelers a 30-28 lead.

However Mike Tomlin made one of the biggest gambles of his head coaching career. Tomlin tried a onside kick with a two point lead and didn't recover it. Instead they give the Packers offense the ball on PIT 39. The Packers went six plays for thirty-nine yards and a touchdown and to get a 36-30 lead.

On the final drive the Steelers started off horribly with the kick sailing through the return man's legs. Starting the Steelers off at their 13.

Steelers got a thirty-two yard pass on a 4-7 to keep the drive alive. They then got both a twenty, and fifteen yard catch by Heath Miller to help Ben get closer to a game winning drive. Soon after Ben Roethlisberger threw two incomplete passes and only had three seconds to work with.

Rememeber Steelers are known for blowing 4th quarter leads, and in this game they didn't look to follow suit. The crowd was silent before the snap, Steelers fan anxiously waiting for the final play.

Ben dropped back, and threw a stripe to Mike Wallace for the game-tying touchdown.

On the game-tying touchdown play, Mike Wallace was working on the rookie and got a half step on the D and got open for a "Santonio" like catch to win the game.

The Steelers had 537 yards to the Packers 436. This game had the two best defenses to showcase but the offense ran the show. The Packers defense came in only allowing 272 yards of total offense to opposing teams.

Steelers came away with a 537 yard effort in their 1 point win. The Steelers had 28 total first downs, 20 of them coming through the air. Roethlisberger completed a pass to seven different receivers.

Roethlisberger left the game with 503 yards, 29 for 46 with three touchdowns. 

This win keeps the Steelers in contention in the playoffs. The Steelers now hold a 7-7 record with the Ravens and Dolphins left on the schedule. However the Steelers have the worst conference record out of the last playoff teams.
