How WWE Could Bring Back the Light Heavyweight World Title
The WWE has always been a place for big men, no one will argue that. If you look throughout history most men who have held the WWE title have been 240 lbs or more. What the WWE is missing the boat on is the lightweight action that some of their roster can provide.
The WWE has a ton of talent in the "240 lbs and under" bracket and they should capitalize on that. Having little guys feud with big guys is fun sometimes, but when Rey Mysterio is only facing guys who can eat him for breakfast, it gets old. I want to see a match where he is not the underdog for once, like when he faced Evan Bourne.

The WWE should bring back the light heavyweight world title. The Cruiserweight title was taken away a while back and since then the smaller wrestlers have had to go for the same belts as guys like Kane and Mark Henry.
The title should have a 240 lb weight limit to allow for more people to be eligible. The WWE could have a tournament leading up to WrestleMania where they crown a champion.
Guys like Cody Rhodes, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, and John Morrison could hold a belt labeled "World Champion" without having to be the brand's top guy.
The amount of wrestlers who would qualify is close to half the roster so the amount of feuds over the belt could be endless.
With all the recent talks of taking away ECW, the WWE could capitalize by making ECW a "lightweights only" show where the top championship is the light heavyweight title. They could even use the ECW belt and just redesign the big plate in the middle.
ECW has had mostly lighter wrestlers anyway, so it makes sense to use that to the WWE's advantage.
Other talents like Tyson Kidd, Hurricane Helms, and R-Truth could be brought over to the brand to compete for the belt as well.
There is no shortage of lightweight talent in the WWE these days and they need their own title to strive for.
