Earth Quake Needed In Warrior Land

David BalagueDec 18, 2009

It's been a pleasant surprise watching Monta Ellis blossom into a Star. His maturation process after the moped and injury issues, shows true character. I'm thinking, with his improved D, will be an Elite player for years to come. Now is the time to be bold. This team is far too young to be taken seriously, as constructed. With all the injuries, coaching and front office issues, is now the appropriate time to be aggressive? Why not.

I truly believe that Anthony Randolph will eventually become an outstanding player. If he works really hard, maybe an All Star. Do the Warriors have time to wait? No. The kid, as gifted as he is, will take time to blossom. For the Warriors to ask a 20 year old to be consistent is outrages. None of us at 20, did anything well, let alone bang in the paint with strong armed giants. Was Ellis, Kobe, Garnet, good at 20? Not even close.

Chris Bosh has already reached what will take Randolph 4-5 years, if it all pans out. Trade Randolph and next years first round pick for him, now before he hits free agency. As an All Star, he and Andris Biedrins could lock down the paint for years to come. Paring Bosh with Ellis would give the Warriors  two young All Stars and a bright future. With a healthy and legit roster, they will have immediately altered the balance of power in the West. Matching up well with the Lakers Gasol/ Bynum, Spurs, Suns and Portland as well. With the right coach in place, the franchise could begin a rapid ascent, hopefully keeping the team together and allowing the younger players, Curry, Morrow Wright, to blossom.

You either love him or hate him, but Don Nelson is a winner. Nellie ball doesn't work in the playoffs, but is darn exciting. Thanks Nellie for the memories, but I have a feeling, even you know it's time to go. At the All Star break please. The Warriors could make a complete break from the Nelson era. Bring in Byron Scott, a veteran coach with a good and winning reputation. Wanting consistency is great, but it will take a huge shake up to move the club in the right direction.

It would also help to change the shiny uniform's. Go old school colors with a bolder font maybe a badge of the old city logo on the shorts. It was one thing getting rid of Thunder and that circus act, but traditional NBA uniforms are a must. The old San Francisco uniforms are one of the best in the league. The NBA is about looking good and winning, nothing more. The Warriors have been around for a long time and at one time a proud franchise. It's a little troubling things have gotten so bad and so ugly.
