Predicting The Rest Of The Badgers Season

Sam SchmidtDec 17, 2009

The Wisconsin Badgers are 8-2 so far with wins over then No. 5 Duke, then No. 21 Maryland, and Marquette.  Their only losses were a neutral court loss to now No. 15 Gonzaga (8-2) and at UW-Green Bay (9-3) who looks like a serious threat to Butler in the Horizon League.  Needless to say they are looking like another solid Badger team and this is what I predict will happen from here on:

V. UW-Milwaukee - W (9-2)

V. UIC - W (10-2)

V. Ohio State - W, no Turner and at home (11-2, 1-0)

@ Penn State - Tough win but I say W (12-2, 2-0)

@ Michigan State - L (12-3, 2-1)

V. Purdue - W (13-3, 3-1)

@ Northwestern - W (14-3, 4-1)

@ Ohio State - L (14-4, 4-2)

V. Michigan - W (15-4, 5-2)

V. Penn State - W (16-4, 6-2)

@ Purdue - L (16-5, 6-3)

V. Michigan State - W (17-5, 7-3)

@ Michigan - L (17-6, 7-4)

V. Illinois - W (18-6, 8-4)

V. Indiana - W (19-6, 9-4)

@ Minnesota - W (20-6, 10-4)

V. Northwestern - W (21-6, 11-4)

@ Indiana - W (22-6, 12-4)

V. Iowa - W (23-6, 13-4)

@ Illinois - L (23-7, 13-5)

I don't see the Badgers losing a home game this year so they should get some big wins against Michigan St. and Purdue, and I think a 23-7 record should make them a solid 3-4 seed with a very strong overall resume.  13-5 will probably leave us 3rd in the conference, keeping Bo Ryan's streak of never finishing below 4th in conference!

Bring on the 12th straight year of March Madness!
