Barca's new boss Pep Guardiola had revealed Ronaldinho, Deco and Samuel Eto'o were all free to leave Nou Camp.
Guardiola also revealed he was interested in signing another striker to complement Henry and Bojan, recent development suggest that striker is Adebayor.
Wenger made no attempt to play down Adebayor's contribution, although the Frenchman did admit his relief that the powerful forward was even available for the crucial phase of the campaign.
The 23-year-old would have been ruled out for up to six weeks had Togo qualified for the African Nations Cup. Instead, they were edged out by Mali and Adebayor was able to stay in London, much to his manager's delight.
According to reports, Barcelona have offered 29 million euros (45 million dollars) for Adebayor.
Arsenal are being stubborn and have asked for 30 million euros, Barcelona have now started to use Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldinho as bait.
The Catalonians have said they are willing to agree to a swap deal which would see either Ronaldinho or Eto'o join Arsenal with Adebayor heading the other way.
It is believed Arsene Wenger is interested because he is an admirer of Samuel Eto'o.
Sources suggest the North London club are considering the offer.
