SpartyMSU's BigTen BBall Rankings: Dec. 16, 2009

Last Week's Summary...


Michigan State:  SpartyMSU went to the game against Oakland.  They came out from the get go and tried to put the opponent away.. first time in a while they didn’t play catch up.. Nice to see, but MSU did not impress, sure they won by 30.. I think it was more that Oakland didn’t play well, than MSU beat the crap out of them.   Missing free throws, poor passes, missing on slam dunks.. not a top ten ranking performance. 

Surprising realy, since they have the talent, and skills…
This week: the IPFW Mastodons.

Purdue:  Beat a decent Alabama at Alabama.. good performance, and No. 5 Purdue and came from behind, down 16 points in the second half…  Looks like the team to beat in the Big Ten..
Next up: Ball State

Wisconsin:   Surprising loss to Green Bay, but a good win over a strong  Marquette team.
Next up: Cal Poly

Ohio State:   Lost to #22 Butler  Bulldogs… Turner is still out with a back injury..
Next Game against Presbyterian.. sounds like a Convent school for the blind.. maybe they’ll win…

Illinois:  Beat Vandy and Western Michigan.  Yawn…..
Next Up:  possibly trap away games, at Georgia and at Missouri..

Minnesota:  Beat Morgan, beat St. Joseph’s…
Next: South Dakota, they are better than you think.. Should finish #1 or #2 in the Summit league…

Northwestern:   Beat NC A&T, thrashed them.. Drew Crawford scored 35 points.. rained in a bushel of 3’s…  Next up: North Florida and Stanford…

Penn State:   Lost to Va. Tech. in a close one. Talor Battle scored 32, but went 3 – 10 from the free throw line..   Next Up: Gardner-Webb, who the hell is this school.. sounds like a furniture company more than a school…

Michigan:  Lost to Utah, and beat University of Detroit… Can you believe these guys were once rated in the Top 25… not me…    Next up:  the Kansas J-Hawks..  will be a good test…

Indiana: Lost to #4 Kentucky, not really a surprise,   Next up:  North Carolina Central and Loyola

Iowa.. 2 more losses last week  to Northern Iowa and Iowa State… Poor Iowa, unlike their Football team, they will suck this year..  Losses to bad teams.. losses against good teams..
Next up: Drake and South Carolina State
