I'm Calling It Now: Bret Hart Will Wrestle at WWE Wrestlemania 26

The Doctor Chris MuellerDec 16, 2009

With the news of Bret Hart's signing with WWE, rumors are flying around the Internet.  All kinds of scenarios, from if he will host Raw on January 4th, to if he will wrestle one more match.

I am making the prediction that he will wrestle at Wrestlemania, due to his contract ending April 10th.

Bret left the wrestling world in less than stellar fashion, and I think he would like to go out with a decent retirement match. The question is who would he face if he does fight at Wrestlemania?

Shawn Michaels is the obvious choice.

Since he was the last person Bret fought in a WWE ring, due to his involvement in the Montreal Screwjob, he is the ideal candidate. However, due to Bret and Shawn's rocky relationship, I think this is less likely than some of the other top guys.

John Cena would be another obvious choice. He is the face of the WWE, and having him fight the guy who people have wanted to see for years would be a good choice for WWE, but I don't think it would be the best match up for Bret.

Triple H and Bret didn't have a lot of ring time together towards the end of Bret's career, so they could possibly face off. Triple H is the top guy politically, so he could end up being the one who Bret faces.

Undertaker would not be a good choice, because he won't lose at 'Mania and people would want to see Bret win his final match.

Randy Orton is my personal favorite choice. These two could have a great match. Bret has actually fought Randy's father in the past, so it would have a good build up before Mania. They could even bring Bob Orton in fro a short time to help Randy train.

Having Bret face the Hart Dynasty could be a good choice, but they are too young and inexperienced to pose a believable threat to one of the living legends of wrestling.

Bret could end up facing a newer guy like CM Punk or Jack Swagger, but I don't see that happening due to a lack of history.

Bret has praised Jeff Hardy in the past, so if Jeff returns in the beginning of 2009, they could possibly face off.  Jeff and Bret would be the most popular match of the night by far.

No matter who he would end up facing, I would be watching.

I have been waiting for a Bret Hart retirement match for years, and I don't think I am alone in this desire.  Bret has had a lot of medical problems that have prevented him from entering a ring for nearly a decade, but from what I have heard, he is in the best shape he has been in since leaving wrestling.

if the match is done right, he could do it without really endangering himself, but It would still be dangerous.

I don't care who disagrees with me, I am calling it. Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 26.
