The JoeSportsFan Worthless Card Collection was born one random afternoon several years ago, when the similarities between Pete Laddโ€™s 1986 Topps card and Weird Al Yankovicย proved too great not to point out on these pages and it has been growing at a steady clip ever since.ย  To make sure that the readers get an occasional sampling of the cards strewn out amongst the 20 or so pages in our virtual binder, we have decided to bring you along on aย weekly stroll through a random sampling of the card collection based on one of the many categories that our subjects have been separated into.ย

Today we take a look at the prominent category of โ€œtight pantsโ€.ย

With double knit polyester material running rampant in clubhouses throughout the league, the 1980โ€™s was a decade that encouraged the strangulation of various body parts via the uniform, namely the legs.ย

But with everyone sporting snug pants throughout the league, it took a special breed to make it into the โ€œtight pantsโ€ category of the JSF Worthless Card Collection.ย  We wanted only those players whose pants were soย cozy that if they had a dime in their back pocket, you could read the outline of โ€œin god we trustโ€ fromย 100 yards away.ย

Players like Floyd Rayford โ€“ whose โ€œfun factโ€ noted that in 1988 his pants reached a level of tightness that sent one of the buttons from his elastic waistband rocketing into the crowd, injuring three spectators.ย  Welcome to the team, Floyd.ย  Youโ€™ve got 27 other guys in the club that can feel your painโ€ฆliterally.
