NBA Finals 2009: Who's Next to Win a Ring?
John Stockton, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, and Charles Barkley are all among the great players in the NBA history with no championships.
They well deserved to win the greatest reward in the NBA, but failed, mainly due to Jordan, but that is a different story.
Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen were among the list of players who well deserved a championship, but they are finally checked off that list.
Danny Ainge was on the hot seat and made the right moves to bring a championship team.
So, who's next?
Allen Iverson is one of the best scorers in NBA history.
For a player who is just barely 6 feet tall, he is able to score on anyone.
He got the 76ers to the finals, but had to face a Kobe and Shaq combo that was unbeatable. He deserves a championship the most among all NBA players.
He stuck with bad teams and made the most of it.
Now with the Nuggets it was expected for him to be able to get a championship, but their ability to not play any defense will never get him one.
If Nuggets were able to get the right pieces next season like a Shawn Marion and a point guard like a TJ Ford, they would find themselves favorites in the West and one step closer to a championship.
The two time MVP and one of the most exciting guards in the NBA in Steve Nash, makes him as deserving as John Stockton to win a championship.
Their inability to get passed the Spurs has brought Steve Nash into this situation.
General Manager, Steve Kerr, thinks he knows the formula for winning a championship, so he brought in Shaq and a new coach in Terry Porter.
An honorable mention in Grant Hill is also with this team who had a series of injuries through out his career, but he is apart of the pieces to win it all. This is their last shot at winning one as Nash, Hill, and Shaq are all aging.
It will be interesting to what else Kerr does to this team.
He has one last shot too excel, before he is fired.
Jason Kidd is arguable one of the greatest point guards in NBA history.
The walking triple-double had two chances in the finals, but the Kobe-Shaq combo stopped him.
He was supposed to get new life by going to Dallas, but failed last season.
Dirk Nowitski is also a player deserving a championship before blowing a 2-0 lead to the Heat in the finals.
Kidd is not getting any younger and this year could one of his last solid years left in him. With a defensive minded coach in Rick Carlisle the Mavs are on the right path.
If they can get Ron Artest and Jermaine O'Neal, Mark Cuban will look like a genius and get a ring.
Tracy McGrady is one of the best players in the NBA, but he just has bad luck.
Rick Adelman has changed the attitude with this team.
With Jeff Van Gundy leaving his defensive philosophy with Adelman's dynamic offense, the Rockets just may have something special.
McGrady has never got passed the first round of the playoffs, which is sad, but if Yao can stay healthy they are on the right path to getting a ring.
Dikembe Mutombo is the oldest player in the NBA as he looks younger every year.
He has done probably the most on and off the court in the NBA, but has not won a championship.
He made a finals appearance with the Nets and the 76ers, but failed to land one. He deserves one the most and I hope he comes back and helps the Rockets get one.
