Tiger Woods Steroids Talk Far Worse Than Theresa Rogers, Affair Photos

James HendersonDec 15, 2009

Apparently, Theresa Rogers is the latest mistress in the Tiger Woods saga.

And the Google searches have begun for "Theresa Rogers Pics" and "Latest Tiger Woods Affair Photos."

Just another day on the Internet, I suppose.

But the latest news doesn't just keep Pandora's Box ajar: It flat out smashes the box entirely.

Tiger Woods is being linked to steroids.

According to the New York Times , a Canadian doctor who treated Woods is suspected of providing athletes with performance-enhancing drugs.

And just when you thought this thing couldn't get any bigger, the biggest athlete in the world is linked to the "guilty until proved innocent, but probably still guilty" culture of performance enhancing drugs.

Fans don't care if NFL players are suspected of steroids, because while steroids help players run faster, hit harder, and even inflict more serious injuries on opponents, sports fans don't care about records for tackles, pancake blocks, or yards after catch. In turn, fans can't get excited about steroids in the NFL (case in point: Shawne Merriman).

But golf and Tiger is a whole different world. Tiger is breaking every record in the book. And people care about Jack Nickalus' records, just like they cared about Roger Maris and Hank Aaron.

"Tiger Woods Steroids" is shooting up the list of Google Trends, and this is just the beginning. His first Masters win, the way he dominated the 2000s, the long driving distance—it's all going to be questioned, justified or not.

Theresa Rogers is the least of Tiger's problems.
