10 Things We Learned From Arsenal at Anfield

Snide CommentsDec 15, 2009

In the must win game for both sides at Anfield, it was a Liverpool vs.Arsenal clash that promised to deliver, considering Arsenal's 4-4 draw last season were Arshavin stole the headlines.

This encounter was not as entertaining as the previous one, but some key things stood out to me as I will point them out in bullet points.

1. Arsene Wenger can scream at players, then were was he when Arsenal's previous seasons have come crashing down, maybe he feels Arsenal are under pressure to win trophies this time more than ever.

2. Denilson and Song can not work together in midfield. I don't know why but Denilson seemed outplayed by crappy Lucas, that says much.

3. Arsenal terribly need a striker, Arsenals two goals were some kind of luck in my opinion, Walcott just did enough to win the header to set up Arshavin.

4. Although Glen Johnson has impressed so far, he couldn't just help but tell us that he is a real attacking right back and obviously found the net, remember he was just in the right place for the beach balloon to make headlines against Sunderland.

5. Benitez's time is up. Enough said besides when will h give Aqulani a chance to play.

6. Gerrard has started a new thing, diving, Am I the only one that noticed he was trying to hard to get calls. Anyways the Gallas incident was a centimeter from being a foul if Gerrad didnt go down.

7. Almunia's hopes of EVER being called up by Capello(although it wasn't going to happen) has been dashed, imagine a blunder like that in the World Cup.

8. Let this win not blind you Arsenal still need to sign a striker, a contender for Defensive Midfield as Song leaves for the African Cup of Nations in January and a defender that Arsene will slowly ease into the first team as Gallas ages out of the team.

9. What else does an Arsenal fan need in one weekend, Chelsea draw, Manchester lose and Tottenham Hotspur lose, at home. Good times.

10. Andrei Arshavin must feel so happy at Anfield or when he sees Reina, he capped his fine form against the Spaniard with a stunner that hand Arsenal the win and hope of the title.
