Paul Petrino, new Offensive Coordinator for Illinois, is working hard to convince WR Arrelious Benn to return for his senior year. Benn has not made any decision regarding the NFL Draft. (St. Louis Today)
"“I tried to sell everything I could,” Petrino said. “We’re going to get you the ball. I showed him a list of receivers I’ve coached. I did everything in my power to sell it. I showed him Roddy White and how he turned his career around. When you’re going to meet with a great player, I hand it right to him.”
It is widely believed that Benn will go pro. And without any clue who will play quarterback for the Illini next year, it might be a gamble for him to stick around. But Petrino wasn’t going to let the moment pass without making a pitch.
