Coach Pat Hill of Fresno State Receives Contract Extension
With the season wrapping up, the rumors were about to begin flying about where Pat Hill would end up or even if Fresno State was going to ask him to come back for the final year of his contract.
According to ABC 30 in Fresno, those questions and rumors can finally be put to rest.
Fresno State Athletic Director Thomas Boeh made the announcement that the university has given Hill an extension that will keep him there beyond the 2010 season.
The terms of the contract have not been released, but Boeh, in a statement released earlier this evening, said they're happy to have Hill remain the head coach at Fresno State.
"I am very pleased that Pat Hill will continue to lead the Fresno State football team in the years ahead," said Boeh. "He has demonstrated extraordinary passion as well as the fact that an NCAA Division I football program can be successful both on and off the field. We value his leadership and preparation of our student-athletes for their lives following Fresno State."
Coach Hill was also asked about the extension, and Hill told ABC 30 that he's happy to have the focus back on his team, the players, the bowl game coming up, and the players' final exams.
"I'm happy to have the discussions regarding an extension moving forward," said Hill. "I truly believe our best years are ahead of us, and I'm pleased to have the support of Thomas Boeh and our administration as we continue to build the football program and remain a source of pride the San Joaquin Valley. Our primary focus will now return to the completion of final exams, recruiting, and preparation for the New Mexico Bowl."
