Jason Campbell had another terrific game, completing 16 of 28 passes for 222 yards and 2 TD despite facing an impressive pass rush for much of the game. His passer rating of 126.8 in the first half and 106.5 for the game makes the case that Campbell is part of what is right with this team, not wrong. He stepped up in the pocket several times to make plays with his legs and arm. One carry for 13 yards in the second quarter was particularly impressive, as Campbell evaded the rush, bounced off a defender and took off down the field for a key first down inside Oakland’s 10-yard line.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Brian Orakpo and the defensive line were terrific today, shutting down the Oakland running game [2.7 yards per carry] and sacking Raider quarterbacks eight times. Orakpo came into the game with 7 sacks and came out of it with 11, virtually sewing up the race for Defensive Rookie of the Year. On his first sack, Orakpo ran through two blockers, blasted TE Zach Miller into next week and crushed Bruce Gradkowski. DE Andre Carter added two sacks and 7 tackles — 6 behind the line of scrimmage. Carter was a complete monster in this game, his only sin [but it is a big one] being not falling on a fumble caused by Orakpo during one of his sacks. Carter tried to pick a slick ball off the turf and carry it into the end zone. Instead, he overran the ball and allowed the Raiders to recover at their own 2 yard line. In all, the defensive line had 7 sacks [one by increasingly-impressive backup Lorenzo Alexander] and a stout defense against the run.
Honorable Mention: Congratulations to Quinton Ganther, who scored his first two touchdowns as a pro today. Ganther finished with 93 total yards today — not a monster game but very respectable and he finished hard around he goal line.
Honorable Mention: TE Fred Davis continues to impress, catching two more TD passes today and firmly establishing himself at Campbell’s go-to guy as long as Chris Cooley is on the shelf.
