World Football Transfer Updates: Inter Milan Are Very Close To Signing Lampard!

Salaar ShamsiJun 19, 2008

Here's another quickfire edition of Transfer Updates.

I am scraping the headlines here and it will not be as detailed as previous edition due to the fact that I'm exceptionally tired. Here it goes:

Frank Lampard (Chelsea):

Frank Lampard is a step closer to being reunited with Jose Mourinho after the Chelsea star's agent revealed he would be meeting with Inter Milan bosses in the next 10 days.

Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to lure Lampard to the San Siro, but this is the first time positive words about the move have emerged from the England midfielder's camp.

Lampard had previously said he wanted to stay at Chelsea but is demanding a four-year extension to his current contract while the club are reportedly only prepared to offer him two years.

Inter have already offered the former West Ham player a five-year deal.

Lampard is set to have talks with Luiz Felipe Scolari when the new Blues boss begins work with the English club on July 1

Deco is being linked with a move to Chelsea. Could his arrival pave the way for Lampard's departure? What do you think?

Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal):

Didier Drogba will be disheartened and disappointed after reading this piece.

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani insists Emmanuel Adebayor is the Serie A club's sole transfer target this summer, ruling out moves for rumoured targets Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba.

The Rossoneri are currently being linked with a host of attacking players following the departure of Alberto Gilardino to Fiorentina and a serious injury to Ronaldo.

Galliani, however, confirmed it's Adebayor or nobody.

Adebayor to AC Milan? Can Arsenal Let Him Go?

Alessandro Mancini (AS Roma) :

Jose Mourinho is set to make his first signing as Inter Milan coach after the club agreed to personal terms with Roma star Mancini.

Inter director Marco Branca met with the Brazil winger's agent Gilmar Veloz to finalise a four-year contract worth more than three million euros a year—more than double Mancini's current salary at Roma

Apparently it's a done deal! Why did Mancini pick Inter Milan over Liverpool?

There it is, short and sweet transfer updates on the "BIG MOVERS."

There are other reports about Kranjcar and Albedla and the never ending Cristiano Ronaldo debate but why bother?

There is another report suggesting Barcelona have completed the capture of Arsenal's Hleb but the source is not reliable so why bother?

I guess that's a wrap for this edition of World Football Transfer Updates! Be sure to check back at Bleacher Report for update on the latest speculation.

My attention now will shift towards the 3rd World Football Round Table discussion. I know I've given the lads time till Tuesday but I've already received eight contributions, should I publish it now?

I guess we will wait for the others but I could introduce another discussion for Tuesday. We'll just have to see. Keep me updated on what you think is fair
