Five Things the WWE Can Do To Save Chavo Guerrero

For a long time, I was not Chavo's biggest fan, to say the least.  But after the last couple of years, I have grown more interested in the Mexican Warrior.

Chavo is from a heavy wrestling background, everybody knows that. But the WWE treats him like a sideshow act.  I know he is getting TV time and a lot of people would kill to be in his position, but he is better than that.

The first time I really became a Chavo fan was when he was embroiled in a feud with Rey Mysterio.  He came out dressed as Mysterio and even did a whole match in full Mysterio dress, complete with high flying moves and painted on tattoos.

I watched this match and realized that he is much more talented than I had given him credit for.  He performed many moves I haven't seen him do since his WCW days, and he did them cleaner than Rey does.  He is a great performer, and his in-ring skills are unquestionable.

So I have been asking, why does WWE put him in these feuds, the main one I am speaking about is with Hornswoggle.  He began this feud back when he lost the Cruiserweight title to the son of Finlay.  Since then the little guy had been making Chavo's life a living hell.

Recently it seemed like he may take a face turn when he broke up a master lock on the mini Irishman, but the next week he was back to being the butt of the joke.  I think there are a few things the WWE can do to bring him back up to where he was when he teamed with Eddie.

1.  Shave his head.  Chavo has had a receding hairline for awhile now, and that is not really in line with WWE's image of a champion.  Hogan gets the exception because he's Hulk F'n Hogan.  Shaving a person's head has done wonders for guys like Kurt Angle, Big Show and Kane.

2.  Turn him face.  The WWE has had Chavo in the heel role for so long I don't even remember what year he turned heel.  If he got a face turn, it could help his career a lot.  Raw has plenty of heel's, but a guy like Chavo could have great matches with Cody Rhodes or Ted DiBiase.

3.  Give him the ECW title back.  I want Shelton to win the gold, but after that I think Chavo should get another, better run with the belt.  If he was a face champion he could really put on a show.  He has a great in ring move set and having him with guys who are young and looking to make it would help him and them at the same time.

4.  Get new entrance music.  His music is pretty bad. He needs a more upbeat, quicker paced music to go along with his wrestling style.  He has a ton of Latin music to choose from, and no one is saying his music has to be Latin.  He could go with something different to change it up.

5.  Have him in a high profile feud.  If he went to Smackdown, he could feud with his Aunt Vickie and it would elevate him higher than he has been in a long time.  Especially if they paired him with Rey on Smackdown.

These are just my opinions, but I truly believe Chavo could be a top guy if given the chance.  Perhaps TNA would be better for Chavo like it has been for The Pope and so many others.  Look at what happened to Christian.  He was a joke in WWE when he left, he went to TNA, and when he came back he was immediately featured prominently on WWE programming.
