Arsenal: Carlo Ancelotti Thinks We Miss Hleb and Flamini...but Do We Really?

Aaron AndersonDec 12, 2009

Recently, Carlo Ancelotti came out in the press and said that Arsenal miss Mathieu Flamini and Alexandre Hleb, and while he may think he's right, I personally think he's full of it.

Why we don't need Flamini

Alexandre Song is bigger and has experience with both central defense and defensive midfielder and pretty much is a beast in the midfield.

He is much more of a presence in the midfield, and if he was transferred to AC Milan, he would start every game.

Last year, I had my doubts about him because he couldn't complete a 10-yard pass, but he's worked really hard to get where he is. I only see him improving as a player for Arsenal.

All the transfer rumors that come in for Cesc Fabregas will soon come in for Alex Song as well.

Why we don't need Hleb

This should be an obvious one, although I really did like Hleb because he was a smart player and made good runs and put up a whopping three goals a year for Arsenal.

All I can really say to counter that is Arshavin, who last year beat Hleb's goal amount in one game against Liverpool.

Now that Van Persie is hurt, Arshavin may be seeing a lot of the Striker position, so now that we have a position to fill do we miss Hleb.

My thoughts lead me straight to Nasri, who has had a bigger impact and may have missed a good part of the year already, but has been huge since coming back and is set for a good year.

There is no hate directed towards either player, but I feel Arsenal don't need either one.

Arsene knew he wouldn't so he cashed in on players who didn't really wanna be there anyways.
