Bayern Rumours: Miroslav Klose to HSV and Luca Toni to Inter?

Samrin HasibDec 12, 2009

He came in 2007 to don the red colours of Bayern, alongside Luca Toni. The Bremen hierarchy knew they could do nothing about it as the move had been inevitable for quite some time. The Bremen fans were mad that their man, their star was going to that hated place, that stadium, that Arena.

The reports are yet to come out in English, and I am not quite sure whether I would have known either had I not checked the Bayern lineup for today's game against Bochum. He was not even present on the subs bench. Many articles in German and Spanish have been published about this rumour:

Is Miroslav Klose heading to Hamburger SV?

According to Louis Van Gaal, Klose needs to "roughen" up. According to me, that man who claims to be a god has no respect for Miro. When Van Gaal came, the preferred strike partnership was supposed to be Klose and Gomez or Klose and Toni.

Klose, however, disappointed. And he can partly blame himself for his situation. The other part of his situation can be blamed on his horrendous injury in, ironically, Bochum last year, which, I think he never properly recovered from.

Looks like Klose and Toni will both be heading out. Neither of them are happy about their situations. Klose hasn't said anything about his yet, though. He, however, said that he doesn't want to go to the World Cup with Germany as "a mascot," and that just suggests that he might move for the sake of regular first team football.

Toni has been linked with various Italian clubs and Mourinho apparently feels that he needs someone to cover for Eto'o during the African Nations Cup. I don't think Toni would mind even heading off to the Italian equivalent of Bochum at the moment.

Another problem is Bayern will only have two strikers if Klose and Toni head out. They have enough attackers—but those attackers are not necessarily out and out strikers. To a certain extent, you can count Muller as a striker though. I think the Bayern board will not allow Klose to leave just in case injuries strike up again.

Yet, knowing Van Gaal, he might sell both strikers and play as one himself if, or rather when, injuries strike up next year.
