A Blazers Q and A with a Cavs Blogger

Busta BucketDec 11, 2009

Because it's always important to know what's going on outside of Portland, we had the pleasure of doing a Q and A with Brendan from Stepien Rules . We touch on all of the juiciest, must know questions about the Cavs. I also answered a few of his questions about the Blazers so head over to Stepien Rules for those answers. For now, here's what Brendan had to say about the Cavaliers:

Bust a Bucket: How is the Shaq experiment going so far?

Stepien Rules: The reports are not back from the lab yet on the Shaq experiment. Offensively, after the first few games, it looked like Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James had never played together before, which is to be expected. But since Shaq has returned after missing a couple games due to a sore shoulder, he has blended in well on the offensive end, and is certainly an upgrade inside from what this team had a year ago.

His current problems exist on the defensive end however, with the pick and roll specifically. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who started at Center last year, couldn't guard the pick and roll at all. To this point, Shaq looks to be worse than him in that regard, which I did not presuppose could be possible. Just ask Mike Conely about that. As far as being a teammate goes though, playing second fiddle to LeBron, and things of that nature, Shaq seems to present no problems at all, and has mixed well so far with the chemistry of this team.
