23 Matches To Go.. What Can Happen This Season..??
Yes.. There are 23 matches remaining before the 2009-10 season comes to an end.
Now,to see what is in store,we first have to see the present situation.
Chelsea are at the top of the table and they lead Manchester United by 2 points who are ahead of Arsenal by 6 points, but Arsenal have a game in hand. In fourth place are Tottenham, followed by Aston Villa, then come Manchester City and then Liverpool. Manchester City also have a game in hand and are 4 points adrift Arsenal.

So, it is very close competition between numbers 3-7.
Coming to the other end of the table,Wolves Bolton and Portsmouth are in danger with Westham just one point ahead of Wolves.
Now,we'll try look at what lies ahead.. Chelsea have already lost Essien for a few weeks and they'll be loosing a few more in January thanks to the African Cup of Nations. But, the teams they play against in that period are relatively weak and Chelsea can manage to get all points in-spite of absence of players like Drogba. But, if they loose some points in that period, that'll be boost Manchester United's title chances.
Arsenal seem to be struggling after loosing Van Persie and Bendtner also not being available for a few more weeks and with Walcott out injured again. Arsenal do have one match in hand and hence can be said to be 5 points away from Chelsea. If Arsenal can buy a striker in January and more importantly, not loose any more points in December,Arsenal are serious title contenders.
Tottenham are 4th presently and Modric will be fit to play soon, thus boosting their morale.
With Torres and Gerrard getting injured every now and then,Liverpool may find it difficult to finish in the top 4,with Manchester City,Aston Villa and Tottenham trying desperately to break into the top 4.
Manchester City certainly have it in them to break in,although they've not been showing that recently, they have a good enough squad to finish ahead of Liverpool especially when the latter are having problems keeping Torres fit.
Things might get bad for Arsenal if Wenger does not buy a striker in January. And Liverpool need more than a striker to help them qualify for the champions league, which is now the only way they can play there as they are already out of the competition this season, ruling out the possibility of automatic qualification.
And on the other end, things look dark for Portsmouth and Wolves. Bolton might manage to come out of the danger zone, which will result in Westham or Hull facing the threat of being relegated..
No matter what happens, this season will surely be very interesting and a lot lies in store for all premier league fans.
