PLAYER OF THE YEAR
1. Toby Gerhart (Stanford)
2. Mark Ingram (Alabama)
3. Ndamakong Suh (Nebraska)
4. Colt McCoy (Texas)
5. Case Keenum (Houston)
Gerhart was the most consistent and effective player all season. A great SEC title game almost made me put Mark Ingram on top but Gerhart’s body of work was impressive especially considering he doesn’t the same talent surrounding him Ingram does. Colt McCoy dropped to literally nearly throwing away the Texas season. That one errant decision near the end that almost cost Texas the Big 12 Championship and a spot in the BCS Championship hurt him.
COACH OF THE YEAR
1. Chip Kelly (Oregon)
2. Gary Patterson (TCU)
3. Jim Harbaugh (Stanford)
4. Brian Kelly (Cincinnati)
5. Nick Saban (Alabama)
Chip Kelly gets the award for surviving an amazingly awful start to the season with the LeGarrette Blount fiasco to get his team to a Pac-10 Title.
