Michigan Wolverines: Thursday News and Notes

• Wow, the Michigan Basketball team is bad. They lost on the road to Utah last night by 16 points.

• It seems that Michigan will sign 28 players this year due to the rule that allows players that enroll in January be able to count towards the previous class. per Mgoblog . Michigan signed and enrolled 22 students in the 2009 class.

• TomVH recruiting insider does a quick interview with Michigan commitment Carvin Johnson . There have been "rumors" that LSU might be interested in Carvin and he might stay close to home if that offer comes through. Well, he doesn't have an LSU offer and doesn't know if one is coming. If they do, he won't change from being Blue. He also believes Michigan fans don't like him because he doesn't have a high star rating. Speaking for this blog, I have read posts from your coaches and newspaper articles and you are clearly a very good football player and one Michigan needs in it's defensive backfield.

• Punter Zoltan Mesko is a finalist for the Ray Guy award (best punter) and will find out tonight if he is a winner.

• Will Michigan face Randy Edsall in 2010 in Week One vs UConn or Week Two vs ND? We should know soon.
