Weekly Mockery: Ndamukong Suh projected #1 pick

Mark ButerbaughDec 10, 2009

suhThe NFL Mock Draft Database (NMDD) has 120 NFL mocks drafts listed.  Here is your weekly NMDD Consensus Top 6 munch.   We are munching 29 mocks updated from 12/5 through 12/10.

There are no Consensus Choice at any Top 6 spot, only leaders.  To be declared a consensus pick by the NMDD at least 60% of the mocks must project the same player.  Mocks are shifting as the draft board shifts.

Here are the current NMDD stats.

Total 2010 Mocks: 120

Updated in December: 41

Updated Today: 9

Total Munched:  Updated between 12/5 and 12/10 (total of 29 Mock Drafts)

Here are your Consensus Leaders at the top 6 spots.

1st Pick:   DT Ndamukong Suh (NEB) (12 mock drafts or 39%) –  DT Ndamukong Suh replaced QB Jimmy Clausen as the leader in the NFLMD as the overall top pick.  It really isn’t surprising.  Some even think Suh has a shot at the Heisman.  Should he?  Yes.  Will he?  No.  But, as the overall pick, a ton depends on who lands the overall top pick.  Suh had such a dominating performance against Texas in the Big 12 Championship game, recording a whopping 12 tackles, 7.5 for loss, and 4 sacks.  Ummmmm.  Dominating.   Suh is the best overall player in the 2010 Draft.

Runner UpQB Jimmy Clausen, 10 mocks

Other listed (more than 1 mock):  S Eric Berry, QB Jake Locker

2nd PickDT Nadmukong Suh (Neb)(9 mock drafts or 31%)  Suh also maintains the lead at #2.  In other words, many Mock Drafts not projecting him 1st overall are projecting him 2nd overall.

Runner UpQB Jimmy Clausen (ND), 7 mocks

Other Listed (more than 1 mock):  QB Jake Locker, QB Sam Bradford, S Eric Berry, DT Gerald McCoy

3rd PickQB Jake Locker (Wash) (10 mock drafts or 34% that is a +6%)  Locker repeats here as the third overall pick.   Locker’s strengths lie in his accuracy and zip on the ball, perfect for an NFL style offense.  His arm strength is considered by most to be average.  In most draft sites, Locker is ranked 2nd or 3rd on QB rankings.   Locker has not made a firm decision on whether he will enter the 2010 NFL Draft.  Our bet, of course he will.  However, if you want to keep track, visit and bookmark RumorsandReports.com, a new all sport draft site that provides the very latest news and links to the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB drafts.  [Read more →]
