Ramsey Is Better Than Gerrard and Technology Rocks

John SmithDec 10, 2009

Last night we lost 1 - 0.

I didn´t think we would win.

In fact, I thought we would lose 3 - 0.

We had first team and Champions League debut´s for Kyle Bartley, who is really quite tall, and Thomas Cruise, who was the brunt of several awful jokes last night.

I have a mountain of crappy work to do today, but on the outside chance anyone reads this thing I owe it to my limited readers to give them some food for thought.

Oh also its been 100 days since I started doing this thing, which is more than a quarter of a year, so that´s pretty awesome that I´ve managed to stay dedicated to blogging and I´m discovering day after day that there are new awesome cool badass things on the internet that I never knew existed before.

Online music sharing, webcams, facebook, twitter, digg.com, youtube, countless chats and blogs, forums where people insult each other to tick away the minutes while sitting in their secretarial chairs or burning credit on their 3G iPhone.

The world has become sensationally technical, and as I sit here blogging about my beloved Arsenal I´m excited about the future prospects. Imagine online Arsenal forums where people are linked via their webcams and they can literally blog into a device which records their voice and publish excellent opinion pieces through the medium of argument and discussion.

Phenomenal.

I think that you guys should CERTAINLY watch this video if you like Trent Reznor or NIN or you have any interest in how the world of entertainment and music is progressing and evolving. I think he´s a bit of a c*** but also a f*****g good musician, and he´s clearly one of the good guys when it comes to valuing consumer rights.

F*** you HMV for making me pay 15 euro for an c*** and balls Arsenal DVD that you can download free of the internet from some Dreadlocked pothead living on a boat of the coast of Panama drinking stolen bear, and pirating satellite internet and uploading thousands of terabytes of fantastic media to the world wide spider web.

Technological rant over, but I´m looking forward to all this buzz and people getting increasingly connected albeit in a slightly less personal, perhaps antisocial scale.

Aaron Ramsey

It´s hard to find an Arsenal blog which isn´t about this bloke today. I´m going to chip in.

A couple of months ago I said that I thought that Ramsey could be, dare I say it, better than Cesc.

I´m not sure this will happen. I think they are different players, it would be like asking if Lampard is better than Xavi, or Kaka better than Iniesta.

They do things very differently but for my money all those players are equally effective. (Maybe Kaka a little bit less recently, but bear with me, the real controversy hasn´t started yet).

The player I think Ramsey is going to play the most like is Steven Gerrard. They both have that drive, they both can shoot from distance, they are both decent free kick takers, and I think they have that desire to win at all costs and prove to nobody but themselves that they can do it.

I think Ramsey will be a better player than Steven Gerrard as well. Now this is certain to spark controversy, but I say Gerrard play right back for Liverpool under Houllier, and he really only came on when he was 24, 25 and then he really came on. He might have been the best player in the world for a period of time. I think those who saw him play in Istanbul would have a tough time arguing with that point.

However, he wasn´t a shadow of the player he is today when he was 18. Hell he wasn´t a shadow of the player Aaron Ramsey is when he was 18.

Ramsey controlled the game last night in midfield, and worked FANTASTICALLY well with Song.

Should well sell off Cesc and give the reins to the Welsh Wizard.

F*** NO!

The midfield 3 of Cesc Ramsey and Song is comparable to Xavi Iniesta and Busquets or Lampard Ballack and Essien. Not just yet, but I think if Ramsey keeps getting games, keeps getting minutes, keeps getting the chance to dust himself off after he´s had a poor game. We are looking at a fantastic midfield with an average age of about 21.

Keep these guys together and it will be scary to see what the next Guardiola, Gerrard, and Makelele will be capable of.

Later guys,

ArsenalAdam
