As two major announcements will be made by Kyle Busch, and Kevin and Delana Harvick regarding their teams in 2010.
First, Kyle Busch will officially announce Kyle Busch Motorsports, which has been leaked a little bit by Rick Ren's announcement of joining the team.
It also was one of the hottest rumors in the Truck Series all season.
With Billy Ballew announcing Ted Musgrave would be replacing Busch in the No. 51, and that they were still working on sponsorship.
We've learned that Miccosukee Gaming and Resorts has left BBM moving on with Busch to his new team.
Dave Moody on his Sirius Radio Show, revealed that sources told him that Johnny Benson would be at the press conference and may even have Exide Batteries as sponsor on one of three trucks fielded by the team.
Plus, with JB being part of KBM, it makes more sense with Rick Ren working for the team.
Since prior to joining KHI in 2007, as Horn's crew chief, he was JB's crew chief at the now defunct Bill Davis Racing.
Speed's Rick Allen will host the Busch announcement which airs on Speed TV at 2:00 PM.
Second, Kevin and Delana Harvick will also have an announcement not only who will be Ron Hornaday's new crew chief but also who will be the crew chief for the No. 2 Truck.
As KHI will run two full-time trucks in 2010, they also have switched to Earnhardt Childress Racing Engines and no surprise with RCR getting into the Truck Series again.
Regarding the No. 2, both Harvick and Ryan Newman will be running races in the truck but as the season starts at Daytona more drivers and sponsors will be announced as to who will be racing in the Truck.
Horn's No. 33 will again have sponsorship from Longhorn and Georgia Boots. It's safe to say that the VFW will also be back for six races in 2010.
Here's my shortlist regarding Horn's new crew chief; Trip Bruce, Jeff Hensley, Richie Wauters and if they promote from with in Adam "Critter" Crigger or Ernie Cope.
Should it be "Critter," he's a mechanic/Jackman on the No. 33, he's well liked and it would be a well deserved promotion for him.
It's a selection that would work well for the team, since their would be chemistry between Horn and "Critter" and it may just be a choice that will make the team stronger.
I do think that I may just have Horn's next crew chief on my short list and if it's Ernie Cope. Well I got another story for why they are pairing him with two wily veterans, but we'll save that for another day.
I'm still trying to track down whether or not the KHI news conference will be covered on Speed or if it won't.
It's going to be a hectic day full of lots of Maxwell House Coffee. It'll definitely be exciting to see the KBM announcement on Speed, but I'm more interested in the news from the Harvick's on their baby KHI and who's on Horn's pit box.
