New Jersey Nets Have All It Takes To Go Winless
The Miami Heat was a bad team in 1988.
I remember that season vividly and I never thought I would see a team start the NBA season worse than them.
It has happened this NBA season as the New Jersey Nets started the season 0-18.
The Dallas Mavericks destroyed them as they opened a huge 27-point lead and never looked back to this pathetic team.
The New Jersey Nets are the least of the East. It seems hard to believe it wasn't that long ago that this franchise was making the Eastern Conference finals.
The Nets can rest and be proud that they now hold the record for starting the season with the longest losing streak.
Their attendance is suffering and the gap between the have and have nots is growing in basketball.
It seems like year in and year out that the same teams dominate their division and remain on top.
It is always the Lakers, Spurs, and Celtics on top and it takes a lousy team like the Nets forever to turn it around.
Basketball is starting to look like the inequalities in baseball teams. It will be quality pro franchises who deserve to be in the NBA playing against those who deserve to be in the CBA.
Basketball playoff interest has dropped in the past several years and the folks in New Jersey will not have to worry about watching this team play in them anytime soon.
