She comes into NASCAR at the young age of 27 and with an opportunity to turn the good old boys network upside down.

Nascar needs for Danica Patrick to be successful, I would guess most hard core fans hate to hear that, but facts are facts folks.

They need her to make it because in 2009 week in and week out they seen poor television ratings and dwindling attendance.

It’s that simple.

You could blame it on the economy , the car, the track , the dog or mamas ugly cat ,but facts are lots of folks are staying home and the ones at home aren’t watching the show.

Can we agree on that?

I would venture to say Danica’s first Nationwide race will bring out the “sold out” sign.

We can also agree on that!

NASCAR more than any other racing series is “driver personality driven” in my three plus years as a NASCAR fan many of this series top drivers remind me of most F1 drivers , no personality.

There are some of the old timers like Michael Waltrip who is one of the best personalities in the sport, is too bad he is retiring .

I certainly rather hear what he has to say running in the back thirty than listening to some of the “elites” who won't even pump a fist, I can only guess for fear it may cast them in a bad light with a sponsor.

NASCAR has a shortage of drivers with personality, actually there is a draught of characters, I don’t want this sport to be like wrestling but man most of this guys are boring.

Jimmie Johnson is a great champion but he is boring, Jeff Gordon is the greatest, but he’s a snoozer, puts me to sleep in the first 10 seconds of a 3 minute interview, Carl Edwards reminds me of Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties, Carl would be the guy I would want a daughter to bring home, he just looks like the guy who would never do anything wrong.

I understand there are folks who love those “no drama drivers” , that’s fine , but the sport needs a balance, it needs more drivers like Montoya ,Stewart, Hamlin, Big K and most of all like Kyle Busch.

If Danica Patrick can learn to drive this beast and she can put a bumper on someone, all I can say is

Oh Yeaaaa! That’s what I’m talking about, and I bet you the wife and the dog, the media will be talking about it too.

I see Danica in cup, I say in a few years .
