Formula BMW International In Monte Carlo: Day One
Being a huge fan of formula one and its sister series, I'm always looking for competitive drivers, the Formula BMW International series is finally here in Monaco. The race is scheduled for Sunday June 22 with practice and qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday.
After living here since I was a little boy, F1 and auto racing is apart of everyones lives here in Monte Carlo. The people look forward to some of the most beautiful, high precision driving on one of the worlds toughest circuits.
Today was the first day of excitement as I saw drivers and teams walking around the city and event centers and crowds starting to walk the streets. I am surely excited to see this weekend's race and it is of high importance for these are some of the world's youngest and most experienced drivers looking to move up into F1 next season.
You may see some of these drivers next season and as a huge fan of the American racing movement, I like what Team Sauber Red Bull has done so far this season with their driver, Brook Johnston from America, leading the Championship going into this weekend.
Native son of Monaco, Carlos Battierez is also competing in this weekends race and would surely like to see him do well in front of the home crowd.
Today Team Sauber Red Bull and Euro Internazionale set up event stations for the public and I got to test simulators, watch racing footage, see the engineering behind the cars, and meet the drivers for an autograph session.
Points leader Brook Johnston and Matt Jaskel of Sauber Red Bull Racing were present and I got to talk to both of the gentlemen for a few minutes and they had such high passion and will to go to Formula One next season it was great to see.
I also met Cole Collier of Canada and Patrick Carpentiere for team Euro Internazionale of whom also had an interesting set up today.
I will be reporting everyday to you here from Monaco and if anyone else is here and attending the events lets here your comments on who you think will win this weekend event and who should move to Formula One next season?
