Why can't the Patriots win on the road?

With the 22-21 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday the Patriots have a 7-5 record this season. They are in 1st place in the AFC East division, but they only have a 1 game lead over the Dolphins and Jets though. Entering week 10, the Patriots had a 2 game lead over the Jets and a 3 game lead over the Dolphins, but since then the Patriots have lost 3 of their last 4 games. (all on the road) The Patriots have been great at home so far; they are 6-0 at home this season. (including a win against the Ravens, Falcons and a 59-0 stomping against the Titans) Despite having a 7-5 record, the Patriots have been terrible on the road; they are 1-5 on the road this season. Their one win came against Tampa Bay, which was played at a neutral site in London, England. 

One of the main reasons why the Patriots have struggled on the road is the play of Tom Brady. At home, Brady has thrown 12Tds and only 2 Ints, but on the road he has only thrown 10Tds and 8Ints. Brady’s completion percentage has also dropped on the road; at home, Brady is completing 69.98% of his passes, but on the road Brady is only completing 61.9% of his passes. Another reason why the Patriots have been horrible on the road is their defense. The defense has been great at home this season; they are only averaging giving up 14 pts per game, but on the road they are averaging giving up 23 pts per game, including allowing Indianapolis and New Orleans to score at least 35 pts. The defense has also allowed to many pass yards on the road; on the home the defense is averaging giving up 270 pass yds per game. (they have allowed 4 teams to pass for over 300yds on the road) At home, however; the Patriots defense is averaging giving up 158 pass yds per game. ( the defense only allowed 2 teams to pass over 200yds at home)

Tom Brady and this defense are going to have to play much better in the next 4 games and the postseason. The Patriots are not going to have home-field advantage in the playoffs, so they are going to have to play great teams on the road like the Colts or Chargers.
