Bowl Games Spread Trends 2009, Part 1
The five Heisman finalists are announced. Stanford RB Toby Gerhart, Texas QB Colt McCoy, Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh, previous winner Florida QB Tim Tebow, and Alabama RB Mark Ingram will be at the Downtown Athletic Club for the ESPN broadcast of the 2009 Heisman Trophy Award.

Wyoming vs. Fresno (New Mexico Bowl)
Wyoming is 27-13 off a spread win. The Cowboys however are just 8-24 after allowing less than 170 yards passing last game. They are also just 3-13 against teams with a winning record.
Though the Bulldogs are 6-0 after getting more than 200 yards rushing last game, they are just 9-26 on grass and 3-12 after allowing more than 40 points last game.
Central Florida vs. Rutgers (St. Petersburg Bowl)
Central Florida is 13-27 in nonconference clashes. The Knights are also 2-10 to the Big East. Rutgers is 7-2 to the college football odds after getting less than 275 total yards previous game.
Middle Tennessee State vs. Southern Miss (New Orleans Bowl)
MTSU is 8-2 after allowing less than 20 points last game. The Golden Eagles are 7-2 off a spread win and 7-2 to the Sun Belt.
BYU vs. Oregon State (MAACO Las Vegas Bowl)
The Cougars are 20-8 after getting less than 275 total yards last game. The Beavers are 6-1 in bowls and 23-8 overall. They are 49-19 off a spread win.
Utah vs. California (Poinsettia Bowl)
The Utes are 10-3 after allowing less than 170 yards passing last game. They are 26-12 in nonconference games and 29-14 off a spread win. California 7-2 after allowing more than 40 points last game.
Southern Methodist vs. Nevada (Hawaii Bowl)
The Mustangs have gone over 16-5 off a straight up win. Nevada has gone over 8-3 after getting more than 200 yards rushing last game.
Ohio vs. Marshall (Little Caesars Pizza Bowl)
The Bobcats are 9-25 to the sportsbooks after getting less than 20 points in their last game. The Thundering Herd are 3-9 outside the conference.
North Carolina vs. Pittsburgh (Meineke Car Care Bowl)
The Tar Heels are 7-20 after getting more than 280 yards passing last game,
Boston College vs. USC (Emerald Bowl)
The Eagles 3-8 after allowing less than 20 points last game. USC is 24-8 in nonconference. However the Trojans are 1-6 overall and 1-6 after allowing less than 100 yards rushing last game.
Kentucky vs. Clemson (Music City Bowl)
The Wildcats are 9-2 in nonconference. The Tigers are 4-12 off a ATS loss. Clemson is 1-6 to the SEC.
Texas A&M vs. Georgia (Independence Bowl)
The Aggies are 13-3 after allowing more than 280 yards passing last game. However, they are 9-21 after allowing more than 200 yards rushing last game. UGA is 8-3 in bowl games.
