As many of you know, the college football regular season ended on Saturday with the final bowl matchups set.

And as I know, many of you want a playoff in college football.

And so, I have coordinated with CFB FC head Trey Bradley and B/R Editor-in-chief Joe Yanarella (sorry if I misspelled) to create a mock playoff for all those who want to take part.

The first round will begin Tuesday and into Wednesday, and the matchups will be set up in a bracket based on the BCS standings.

So as such, here are the matchups for the first round in bracket order:

(1) Alabama v (16)West Virginia
(8) Ohio State v (9) Georgia Tech

(5) Florida v (12) LSU
(4) TCU v (13) Penn State

(6) Boise State v (11) Virginia Tech
(3) Cincinnati v (14) BYU

(7) Oregon v (10) Iowa
(2) Texas v (15) Miami (FL)

What I will be looking for today is anyone who wants to represent any team, especially the FCS, can claim it on a first-come, first-served basis.

The format I am looking at will be that each person will post his insight on the team and matchup, and their post will be linked to the other team.

Each article shall have a poll so that the community can vote for the winner. In the event of a tie, whatifsports.com will be the tiebreaker.

Voting will last for two days then I will post the winners and the next matchups.

If there are any questions, please send them to me. I hope this can be something the community can really get behind.

There might not be a real playoff, but this might be the next best thing.

As we get people to pick a team, I will cross them off of a list and I will keep the names.

A future thanks to everyone who does decide to take part in this.
