BCS Can't Run Forever

The BCS has done it again, this time they've managed to protect their big boys from a possible upset against a team(s) that would definitely give them a run for their money and most likely beat them. Placing Boise State and TCU in the same bowl game is a major cop-out, the BCS should be ashamed of themselves. While I think it will be the best bowl game of the year, it will do nothing to help either team in their quest to prove they belong, like a win over the Big Ten or SEC would.

Many believe that the Broncos should pony up and play real teams before they deserve a BCS berth; Well, lets consider a few things. First, there are not many teams who want to play them, or TCU for that matter. They see what happened to Oregon, who barring that one loss to BSU would be in contention for the National Championship. I've read two different articles that state that Boise State has one road game available on its 2011 schedule and have been turned down by 11 elite programs. How can you play top tier teams if they won't play you?

Believe it or not, the BCS big boys are scared to play a team like Boise State or TCU. The BCS has no desire to see a repeat of the Utah-Alabama game, so they put the BCS busters against each other; That way they can't cause any harm.

I highly doubt I am alone in thinking BSU and TCU could play and beat most of the Top 10 teams. Iowa? Ohio State? Georgia Tech? None of those teams would be able to beat BSU or TCU, they'd be blown out of the water. I'll go even farther and say that Texas, Florida and Cincinnati would also have their hands more than full.

The BCS has managed to escape this year, but they won't be able to run forever. The 13-0 Broncos are being led by a sophomore quarterback and are quite a young team, their only going to be better, much to the BCS' dismay. Next season they play Virginia Tech and Oregon State. If they run the table once again, beating this time an ACC and Pac 10 team, will the BCS find another excuse to keep them back? Most likely yes, but the Boise State Broncos and Texas Christian University Horned Frogs will be the undoing of the BCS.
