Mark Ingram Leads Alabama Over Florida in SEC Championship Game!

Alabama came into this game ranked number 2 in the country. Alabama has dodged threats to losing all season, they blocked a field goal  against Tennessee as time expired to win the game, and they came back from a 1pt deficit in the 4th quarter to beat Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Florida came into this game ranked number 1 in the country. Tim Tebow came into this game as a Heisman favorite and has shown it this season with this numbers; he has thrown for 2166yds, 17Tds and only 4 Ints.  This game was huge for both teams; for Alabama (12-0) if they win they clinch a berth in the National Championship game and for Florida (12-0) if they win they also clinch a berth in the National Championship game.

1st Quarter:Alabama came out and attacked Florida from the start of the game; Greg McElroy (Alabama quarterback) started the game out hot by throwing a 18yd pass to Julio James on his 1st pass of the game. McElroy would make some other key throws on the drive and led them inside the Florida 35yd line. Alabama would kick a 48yd field goal and take a 3pt lead over Florida. Alabama would score again on their next possession; Greg McElroy would drive the Tide down the field making some key throws, including a 19yd pass to Colin Peek and a 14 yd pass to Marquis Maze. McElroy led them down the field all the way to the Florida 7 yd line, then Mark Ingram would finish the drive with a 7yd TD run. This TD would only be the beginning for Alabama. Alabama would miss the extra point though. Florida would get on the scoreboard late in the 1st quarter with a 48yd field goal by Caleb Sturgis. Alabama would lead the Gators by 6.

2nd Quarter: Alabama would extend their lead early in the 2nd quarter when Leigh Tiffin kicked a 34yd field goal. Tim Tebow would lead the Gators down the field with some big plays; he ran or 35 yds during the drive to get the Gators started on the drive and then he finished the drive with a 23yd TD pass to David Nelson to narrow the lead to 12-10 in favor of Alabama. Greg McElroy and Mark Ingram would lead the Tide down the field; McElroy would throw a 69yd pass to Ingram that gave Alabama the ball at the Florida 3 yd line and Ingram would then finish the drive with a 3yd TD run to give Alabama a 19-10 lead. Florida would tack on a field goal late in the 2nd quarter. Alabama would lead the Gators 19-13 at the half.

3rd Quarter: Greg McElroy would get the Tide ahead even more in the 3rd quarter; he led them down the field with some laser throws, especially a 28yd pass to Marquis Maze and finished the drive when he hooked up with Colin Peek for a 17yd TD pass to put the Tide up 26-10. Alabama's defense would force the Gators to punt the ball. The Tide would then go on a 8:47 drive that extended into the 4th quarter.

4th quarter: Alabama still had h ball still driving with their long drive that began in the 3rd quarter. Greg McElroy drove the Tide down the field making all the throws he had to when the Tide needed him to. He led the Tide down the field all the way to the Florida 1yd line by making some key throws. Ingram would then score his 3rd Td of the game by running the ball into the end zone on a 1yd TD run to give the Tide a 32-13 lead over the Gators. The Alabama defense would not the lead vanquish; they wouldn't allow the Gators to score. On one possession, Tim Tebow got the Gators inside the Alabama 10yd line, but the Tide defense forced Tebow to force the ball into coverage and the Tide got an interception when he did. On their next drive, Tebow drove them all the way inside the Tide 15yd line, but the Tide defense would stop them again when they stopped Florida from converting a 4th down play and they turned the ball over on downs. The Tide would drain the rest of the clock out and win the game 32-13! Alabama has won the SEC Championship and they are going to the National Championship game.
